Recently dumped filmmaker Jules, is holed up with her cat at her parents’ cabin in Central Pennsylvania, watching her career dreams dry up in the face of the pandemic and screening her infuriatingly competent sister’s calls. When she flirtatiously encounters her Naturalist neighbor Pete, she begins a foray into the bizarre world of making films for feline viewing. Faced with uncertainty both personal and global, Jules must use instinct to decide who gives her art, and life, meaning, even when it’s feeling more and more like the end of the world. - New Play Exchange

“A meditation on the pandemic, on humanity, on wildness and domesticity, on our relationships to the animal world and to each other, it is deeply funny and also profound. I want everyone I care about to see this show.”

“You see, I’ve just returned from my adventures profoundly changed."
We all have, I think.
Plans change (planning is for squirrels), lovers let us go, new diseases accept our application, careers don’t love us anymore.
At the beginning of March 2020, Clare and I became the artistic leadership of Red Theater. Three years later and you’re watching our second production after the long hiatus. We’ve returned, profoundly changed.
One of the things I cherish most about theater is that it can help us to hold up a moment like a little stone. You can turn it in your hand and see how the light shines off of each facet.
Life doesn't give us many chances to look, but in a theater we can pause and remember.
I remember silent streets at 9:00PM. I remember loneliness and worry. I remember joy. I remember loss and being lost. I remember being found. I remember being different. I don't know if I was worse. I hope that now I'm better.
I remember that really all we have is each other.
I've returned profoundly changed.
I'm glad you are here with us for the next adventures.
