Mora V. Harris - Playwright

Mora (she/her) writes character-driven comedies under a blanket in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her alien comedy Space Girl (Playscripts, Inc.) has had over twenty-five productions in schools, colleges, and community and professional theaters. Her work has received development and support through the Pittsburgh Public Theater, City Theatre Company, The Hangar Theatre, Alliance/Kendeda, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Pittsburgh Opera, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, the Sloan Foundation, and the Kennedy Center’s Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center Fellowship. She holds a B.A. in Creative Writing and Theater from Oberlin College and an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. She teaches screenwriting at Point Park University and middle school playwriting at Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12. www.moravharris.com.

Wyatt Kent - Director / co-Artistic Director

Wyatt (he/him) was a member of the inaugural Red ensemble in Lincoln, Nebraska. Directing credits include immersive and devised work (The Wild Party, Out of Many, De/Ascending), Shakespeare adaptations (Romeo and Juliet et al., Macbeth, Julius Caesar) and new play development. With Red Theater he served as Dramaturg for Non-Player Character and producer for this season’s production of Vinegar Tom and the 2020 workshop of Isle of Sugar. He previously worked as a teaching artist and Artistic Director for Compass Creative Dramatics.

Clare Brennan - Producer / co-Artistic Director

Clare (she/her) is thrilled to be producing our second show of the 22/23 season. Directing credits include Red’s fall production of Vinegar Tom by Caryl Churchill, Anthony Neilson’s Stitching (BlackLight Theatre; Dublin, Ireland), Home of Love (Wall to Wall Theatre Festival; Ann Arbor, MI), and Othello (The University of Michigan). Past Red projects include Assistant Director for Non-Player Character and Producer for You Are Happy and Isle of Sugar. Elsewhere in Chicago, she has worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Shattered Globe, TImeLine Theatre, Links Hall, The Den, Prop Thtr, The Frontier, RhinoFest, Theatre Evolve, and NON:op. Caroline Kidwell - Assistant Director

Caroline (she/her) is so pumped to be working with Red Theater again, after appearing this fall in Vinegar Tom. This is her first time assistant directing and she could not think of a better team with which to be doing so. Many thanks to Wyatt, Clare, Mary, and the rest of this family of cats.  As always, she dedicates her work to her two indoor cats, Chicken and Friend, who don’t even know this show is happening or what a theater is. Mary Townsend Cahoon - Stage Manager

Mary (she/her) is so happy to be back, making magic with Red Theater! As a recent transplant from Arizona, she previously worked as a designer, technician, and actor at theaters all across Arizona. Favorite projects include Vinegar Tom, The BURN, Titus Andronicus, The Nether, Eleemosynary, and Tis Pity She's a Whore. Tessa Huber - Assistant Stage Manager

Tessa is a stage manager who is brand new to the Chicago area. Having graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from Indiana University right at the start of the pandemic, Tessa is glad to finally be doing theater again! Past credits include Little Women (ASM, Indiana University), Water by the Spoonful (ASM, Indiana University), and jelly beans (SM, Indiana University). Tessa would like to thank her family for all their love and support over the years. She would also like to thank the folks at Red Theater for giving her this opportunity to work with such a talented group of people. Enjoy the show!

 
 

Jamie Macpherson - Fight & Intimacy Design

Jamie (she/her) is a Chicago-based intimacy/fight director. She has been an invited artist at Macalester College, Augsburg College, the Lawrence Art Center, and the University of Chicago. Recent credits include: She Kills Monsters (Edgewood College), Macbeth (ASU) and The Nutcracker (Mudlark Theater). Her work has been published in Youth Theater Journal, Howlround, and The Fight Master. Jamie holds an M.F.A. in Theatre for Youth from Arizona State University, and is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors. Check out more about her work at jamiemacpherson.com.

Haleigh Kent - Costume Design

Haleigh (she/they) is a Costume Designer, Theater Artist and Educator based out of Chicago. They are thrilled to be working with Red Theater and the cast and crew of Indoor Cats. While Haleigh began their career as an actor and teaching artist they recently did their first costume design with Red Theater’s Vinegar Tom. Haleigh is so thankful for this opportunity.

Derryll - Lighting Design

Derryll (he/him) is a Chicago-based lighting designer/electrician. Indoor Cats is his second show with Red Theater, and he is ecstatic to work with such an amazing cast and crew! Some of Derryll’s notable credits include Red Theater’s Vinegar Tom (Lighting Designer), Northeastern Illinois University’s Babel (Lighting Designer), and The Academy of Music and Art’s Frozen Jr. (Lighting Designer). Other credits include Big Noise Theatre’s Into the Woods (Associate Lighting Designer), Kokandy Productions’ Cruel Intentions (Electrician), and Mercury Theater Chicago’s Priscilla Queen of the Desert (Electrician).

 

Andy Cahoon - Props Design / Technical Director

Andy (he/him) is a professional actor and carpenter in Chicago, Illinois. He recently moved from Phoenix, Arizona, having worked for nearly every Theater in the valley. While he began his career as an actor, his love for carpentry introduced him to the world of properties and set design. Becca Holloway - Casting Director

Becca (she/her) is a dog-lover at heart, but is so excited to be involved with Indoor Cats! Previous Red Theater credits include casting Vinegar Tom, producing Non-Player Character, and was slated to direct 45 Plays for 45 Presidents before it became a pandemic casualty. Other directing credits include Golden Girls: The Lost Episodes, Vol. 2 (Hell in a Handbag) and Bechdel Fest (Broken Nose Theatre). Becca has been lucky enough to work on the directing teams of several companies including: Oil Lamp Theater, Theatre Evolve, The Comrades, Refuge Theatre, and many others. She is also a company member at Factory Theater where she is a casting associate. Much love as always to CWW and ML.

Jose Alexander - Scenic Design

Jose (he/they) is a scenic designer and painter based out of Chicago. Recently studied at Columbia College, he has been a freelance painter and designer for the past few years. Jose has painted at Timeline Theatre Company, Teatro Vista, and Theatre Wit, and has scenic charged at Porchlight (RENT), Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre (Best Little Whore House in Texas). Most recently, Jose designed Refuge at Theo Ubique Cabaret Theater. He is excited to be making his Red Theater debut as a designer.

Sebby Woldt - Sound & Projection Design

Sebby (they/them) is very excited to be working with Red Theater again. Sebby has designed sound for almost one hundred productions in the Chicagoland area, several receiving BroadwayWorld Awards nominations, since graduating from the Theatre School at DePaul. Recent Credits include: Vinegar Tom with Red Theater, Richard III With Promethean, Last Night in Karaoke Town at the Factory Theater, The Caucasian Inner Circle with The Conspirators, and many others. Sebby is also the resident acoustic natural philosopher of the Bristol Renaissance Faire. You can find their original music and covers under the artist name The Eternal Dreamers.
