Anne Sheridan Smith | ARKADINA – Anne (she/they) is pleased to be in this play with Red Theatrer and this director at the helm. Some credits include A Christmas Carol (U/s, Goodman Theatre); The Book of Will as Rebecca Heminges (Promethean Ensemble); Titus Andronicus as Titus (Redtwist); The Mad Ones as Beverly Brown (Blank); London Road as Julie (Shattered Globe, Jeff winner – Best Musical Production); The Kelly Girls (Factory, Jeff winner – Best New Work); The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas as Miss Mona (Theo) Once Upon a Mattress as Queen Aggravain (Theo). Kason Chesky | KOSTYA – Kason (he/him) is a Chicago-based actor and an ensemble member at Gwydion Theatre Company. Recent credits include Warren in This is Our Youth (Gwydion Theatre Company), Fabian in Twelfth Night (Oak Park Festival Theatre), and Micah in The Totality of All Things (Redtwist Theatre), for which he was nominated for a Jeff Award for best supporting actor. Kason is a proud graduate of the theatre program at Northwestern University. He would like to thank his family, his friends, his teachers, and everyone who’s come out to see this show.
Chuck Munro | SORIN, U/s SHAMRAEV – Chuck (he/him) is honored to be making his Red Theater debut. He was most recently seen in Craig Duff’s journalism-theatre production of Sanctuary Stories. Other Chicago theatre credits include Death of a Salesman (Gwydion), The Innocence of Seduction (City Lit), Summer and Smoke (Violet Sky), Patchwork 4 Play Festival (Eclectic Full Contact) plus Network, The Winter’s Tale, The Merchant of Venice, Hamlet, Julius Caesar, and A Raisin in the Sun (u/s), all with Invictus Theatre. Chuck is a Tampa native where many years ago he appeared in productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Brecht’s A Man’s A Man, Sheridan’s The Rivals, Albee’s The Zoo Story and Beckett’s Play, among others.
Jamie Herb | NINA – Jamie (they/them) is so excited to be making their Red Theater debut! Jamie is originally from Madison, WI, and is a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul. Chicago credits: Beth/Laurie in Little Women (First Folio Theatre), u/s Beth in Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women (Northlight Theatre), Becca in Neighborhood Watch (Jackalope Theatre). Joe Zarrow | SHAMRAEV – Joe (he/him) is delighted to work again with Red after his play Hellmouth featured in the Readings at Red series. His script Principal Principle (about teachers, and how their lives are very, very hard) received a Jeff Nomination for Best New Work. Chicago acting work includes the Goodman, Congo Square, Redtwist, [producingbody], and Theater Wit. Regional: The Watson Intelligence (Open Book Theater - Wilde Award, Best Lead Actor). Television: Emperor of Ocean Park, 61st Street, and Chicagos Fire, PD, and Med. Joe trained at the School at Steppenwolf. Magdalena Dalzell | MASHA – Magdalena (she/her) is a Chicago-based actor and intimacy professional, as well a Co-Artistic Director of Snails on a Bike, a site-specific theatre collective. Recent acting credits include Beatrix Potter Holiday Tea Party (Chicago Children's Theatre), Pride and Prejudice (Parker Players), Eurydice (Snails on a Bike), and Chicago PD. Magdalena studied theatre and Russian language and literature at Northwestern University, as well as the Moscow Art Theatre School. She is delighted to be working with this wonderful team of artists. Josh Razavi | TRIGORIN – Josh (he/him) is excited to be back onstage with Red Theater! A member of Red’s Artistic Cohort, previous credits include The Pilon (Marc), Hamlet (Gravedigger), and Vinegar Tom (Jack). Recent Chicago credits include Macbeth (Invictus) and Wise Guys (Factory). He’s worked with Chicago theaters such as: Lifeline, Steppenwolf, About Face, Jackalope, First Folio, and Silk Road Rising, et al. Also an improv/sketch comedian, he’s performed at The Second City, iO, The Annoyance, and Comedysportz, as well as being the producer and puppet builder for FLEECED! Chris Hainsworth | DORN – Chris (he/him) has been a Chicago actor for three decades, and is excited to be working with Red Theatre for the first time. He is a Lifeline Theatre ensemble member, roles performed include Treasure Island, Neverwhere, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, The Killer Angels, A Tale of Two CIties, Miss Holmes, Frankenstein, and Miss Holmes Returns, and penned the adaptations of Hunger, Monstrous Regiment, Midnight Cowboy, and Fable-ous! He has also worked for The Gift Theatre, Remmy Bumpo, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, The Factory, Strawdog Theatre Company, Raven, and The House Theatre of Chicago, among others.
Ben Murphy | MEDVEDENKO – Ben (he/him) is a Chicago-based actor and director from Minneapolis. As an actor, he’s most recently been in Freshly Brewed’s One-Act Night and also toured The Winter’s Tale and Hamlet with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. Other recent Chicago credits include Romeo and Juliet and Number the Stars (GreatWorks), The 37th Annual Young Playwrights Festival (Pegasus), and How to Defend Yourself (Snails on a Bike). He’s also acted around the country with the Guthrie Theater, The BAND Group, and Bazaar Productions, and he holds a BFA in Acting from Boston University along with a Certificate in Classical Acting from LAMDA. Bobby Bowman | YAKOV, U/s TRIGORIN - Bobby (he/him) has been in various productions in Chicago including: Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare in Love (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); Through the Elevated Line (Silk Road Rising); Fair Maid of the West (Oak Park Festival Theatre); Hand to God (Victory Gardens Theater); Richard III (The Gift Theatre); A Loss of Roses (Raven Theater). Jack Hradecky | U/s KOSTYA – Jack (he/him) is excited to be part of The Seagull team! Recent credits include: Bernhardt/Hamlet (Rostand) and The Minutes (Mr. Peel, Jeff recipient for Lead Performance- Short Run) at Edge of the Wood Theatre. Regionally, Jack has worked with Milwaukee Rep, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and Ego Death and Sub Rosa Theatre Collectives. Ethan Smith | U/s MEDVEDENKO / YAKOV – Ethan (he/him) is grateful and excited to be a part of this team! A Chicago-based actor, he graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a BFA in acting in May 2023. His recent Chicago credits include Adolphe Le Prince in The Curious Circumstances of Louis Le Prince at the Factory Theater, and Ensemble and understudy Judas/John in Godspell at Music Theater Works. Upcoming in May and June, you can see him as Andre-Louis in Scaramouche at City Lit Theater Company. Jacqui Touchet | U/s MASHA – Jacqui (they/she/he) is so excited to be a part of this production and to work with this incredible group of artists. Jacqui is from Houston, TX and studied Theatre and Political Science at Northwestern University. Pricilla Torres | U/s NINA – Pricilla (she/her) is grateful to be working with this incredible team and delighted to be making her Red Theater debut! Marisa Macella | U/s ARKADINA / POLINA – Marisa (she/her) is a performer, producer, and arts administrator. Most recent credits include Die Hard 4 Your Luv and Last Night in Karaoke Town (Factory Theater). She previously served as Red Theater’s Executive Director and now serves on the Board. She currently works at Steep Theatre and has worked on and/or off the stage with many Chicago Theater companies including Theatre Evolve, Oil Lamp Theater, Chicago Folks Operetta, and more. Outside of theater, Marisa teaches Jazzercise and chases around a toddler. Love to Chris & Daphne for loaning her back to Red, and huge thanks to Becca, Wyatt, Clare, Mary, and Ian.
Andrew Pond | U/s DORN / SORIN – Andrew (he/him) moved to Chicago from South Florida, where he had studied with the likes of Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, José Quintero, and Charles Nelson Reilly. Since moving to Chicago, he has worked as an actor, director, and playwright, is a founder and Artistic Director of Eclectic Full Contact Theatre, an Elvis impersonator, balloon artist, voices characters on several of Eclectic’s audio drama podcasts (one of which he co-writes) narrates audiobooks, and has a degree in philosophy so he can use words like “epistemology” at parties. Otherwise, he is completely normal. Thanks to Jess, his partner in all things.
