Ian Maryfield | DIRECTOR – Ian Maryfield (he/him) is an actor in Chicago and is grateful to be making his directorial debut with Red. Some Chicago credits: Translations (Writers Theatre); A Lie of the Mind (Raven Theatre); The Lord of the Rings Musical - US Premiere & New Zealand Tour, SS: Romeo & Juliet, SS: Comedy of Errors (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre); All Quiet on the Western Front (Red Tape Theatre); Photograph 51 u/s, The Originalist u/s (Court Theatre); Hamlet, Indoor Cats (Red Theater); Recipe for Disaster (Windy City Playhouse); The Nutcracker (The House Theatre). Commercial credits: Illinois Lottery, State Farm, Wisconsin Lottery, Guinness, Legendary Whitetails, and Avocados From Mexico.  Television credits: Chicago Fire (NBC). Ian holds a BFA with a minor in Directing from Oklahoma City University. Mary T. Cahoon | ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – Mary (she/her) is a designer, technician, and performer with a penchant for stage management, who has been with Red since 2022. She is a transplant from Arizona, where she previously worked at theaters including: Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Stray Cat Theatre, The Phoenix Theatre Company, BLK BOX PHX, Space 55, Mesa Encore Theatre, and Broadway Guild of America. Some recent Chicago credits include Steppenwolf Theatre Company (Another Marriage; POTUS; Noises Off; Mr. Wolf), Metropolis Performing Arts (Cinderella), Paramount Theatre (White Christmas) and Red Theater (Vinegar Tom; Indoor Cats; Hamlet; Muted.). She would like to thank her incredible husband and best friend, Andy, for all his love and support.

Tessa Huber | STAGE MANAGER – Tessa (they/them) is a Jeff-nominated professional stage manager and a cohort member of Red Theater. Past credits with Red Theater: Indoor Cats (ASM), Hamlet (SM), and Mother Of (SM). Other credits include: Is God Is (ASM, A Red Orchid Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (ASM, Oak Park Festival Theatre), At the Wake of a Dead Drag Queen (ASM, The Story Theatre), and Twelfth Night (ASM, Oak Park Festival Theatre). Tessa would like to give a special shoutout to their papaw, for always being their champion and biggest cheerleader. Enjoy the show!

 

Esau Andeleon | ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER – Esau (he/him) is a theater technician based in Chicago. Stage management credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Duchess of Malfi, Richard III (Babes With Blades Theatre Company), Invaders of Mathmatica (Ghostlight Ensemble Theatre Company), Krossroad the Musical (CIRCA Pintig), and PRICK (Proboscis Theatre Company). Scenic construction credits include Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel (Northwestern Bienen School of Music) and A Mid-Course Correction & Interplay (On the Spot Theatre Company).

Hunter Baumann-Cole | SCENIC DESIGN – Hunter (they/them) is so excited to be working with Red once again! Also serving as the Director of Production at Red, they are ecstatic to collaborate with the incredible artists on this show. Thanks and love to their wife Paige, whose endless support is essential to this work. Love always J + M. Brenden Marble | LIGHTING DESIGN – Brenden (he/him) is a lighting designer & technician from Detroit MI. Credits include: At the Wake of a Dead Drag Queen (The Story Theatre); House of the Exquisite Corpse (Rough House Puppet Arts); Passover (Fleetwood Jourdain Theatre); We Always Bounce Black (Second City); Kid Prince & Pablo and Native Son (Lifeline); An Educated Guess and Fairview (Definition Theater); The Hatmaker’s Wife (Theatre Evolve); A Hit Dog Will Holler (Artemisia Theatre).

 

Kate Schnetzer | SOUND DESIGN – Kate (she/her) is thankful to be working with Red Theater. Chicago sound credits include Smokefall (Wild Door Theater); A Picasso (Elsinore, A Theatre Ensemble); and Refracted Light, Relatively Speaking, Patchwork IV-V, and the mini-play podcast Half Hour Audio Hour for Eclectic Full Contact Theatre, where she is a company member and the resident sound designer. Maggie McGlenn | COSTUME DESIGN – Maggie (she/her) graduated from Lawrence University in 2022, where she worked as costume shop manager under the mentorship of designer Karin Kopischke. As a 2022 Watson Fellow, Maggie spent a year studying how the creation of clothing can sustain all the different aspects of our lives. Previous costuming includes The Village Theater’s productions of Calypso (2025), Artemis Books (2025) and The Lacy Project (2024).

Suzanne Barnes | PROPS DESIGN – Suzanne (she/her) is thrilled to be making her props designer debut with Red Theater! She is a Chicago-based props designer, artisan, and scenic artist from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she earned her BFA in Theatre Design and Production from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). She was recently the scenic artist for Kitty James and Destiny’s Trail to Oregon at the Factory Theater. Victoria Nassif | INTIMACY DESIGN – Victoria (she/her) lives on the hyphen - between Lebanese, Palestinian, and American, between performer, intimacy director, and narrator, between her many hobbies and her personal commitments to family, to growth, and to hope. Her work has been seen across the globe at places like The New Victory Theater, The Kennedy Center, the Goodman, the Guthrie, American Players Theatre, Writer's Theater, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival, Great River Shakespeare Festival, TheatreSquared, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and many more. Jonathan Hannau | COMPOSER – Jon (he/him) is a Chicago-based composer and pianist devoted to the surreal, minimal, and abstract possibilities of music. Notable projects include 2 LP’s of original piano music as part of his ongoing “Seasons” project, one of which received a DCASE grant in 2021. His passion for collaboration led him to be one half of the piano/percussion duo, “Flannau Duo”, the pianist in the chamber ensemble “Mycelium New Music”, and the Artistic Director of the Chicago Composers Orchestra. AJ Mueth | TECHNICAL DIRECTOR – AJ (he/him) is a Chicago-based freelance Technical Director and is excited to be returning to Red Theater after working on The Pilon. Select Technical Direction credits include Into The Woods, Cinderella, and Anatomy… at West Virginia University as well as Fun Home and August: Osage County at Clinton County Showcase. In addition to Technical Direction, AJ worked for Hudson Scenic Studios assisting in the construction and automation of Maybe Happy Ending on Broadway and select projects with Disney. He is thankful for the continued support of his family and friends.

 

Mia Irwin | SCENIC CHARGE ARTIST – Mia (she/her) is a scenic designer based in New York City. She holds her MFA in Scenic Design from Pennsylvania State University. She is currently working as a studio assistant for Derek McLane. Recent credits include Facility for Living (Flint Repertory Theatre), Island Song (Lansing Community College), The Wedding Singer (Cortland Repertory Theatre), The Cottage (New London Barn Playhouse), Vanities (Meadow Brook Theatre), GodspellGrease, and little rock (SUNY Geneseo). Upcoming projects: Million Dollar Quartet (Meadow Brook Theatre) (New London Barn Playhouse), and 9 to 5 (Cortland Repertory Theatre). www.miairwindesign.com

Skyler Simpson | POSTER ARTIST – Skyler (she/her) is a visual artist based in Chicago, IL. She received an MFA from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2024. After receiving her BFA from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 2018, she worked as a painting intern at Anderson Ranch Arts Center during the summer of 2019. Skyler’s work has been featured in New American Paintings, Booooooom, and she has exhibited in shows throughout the United States. www.skysimpson.com

Faith Decker | PHOTOGRAPHER – Faith (she/her) is a Chicago photographer and actress, originally from sunny Arizona. Favorite credits include Elodie (Black Box Films), Empty Words: A Crime and Punishment Adaptation (Aside Theatre Company), and Veratrum Album (Valley Wide Films). Becca Holloway | CASTING DIRECTOR – Becca (she/her) is a Chicago-based director, casting director and producer. A huge supporter of new work, she is the curator of the monthly Readings at Red series to help support and develop new plays written by Chicago local playwrights. She is also the resident Casting Director for Red Theater. Directing credits (selected): Wise Guys, Die Hard 4 Your Luv, Louis Le Prince (Factory Theater), Muted., DOGS (Red Theater), Disaster! The Musical (Big Noise Theater). Wyatt Kent | CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR – Wyatt (he/him) was a member of the inaugural Red ensemble in Lincoln, Nebraska before stepping into leadership in March of 2020. For Red, he directed Hamlet, as well as the world premiere of Mora V. Harris’ Indoor Cats (Jeff Award: New Work and Supporting Performer - Play), Directing credits include The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Metropolis Performing Arts), The Mad Ones (Blank Theatre), immersive and devised work (The Wild Party, Out of Many, De/Ascending), Shakespeare adaptations (Romeo and Juliet et al., Macbeth, Julius Caesar) and new play development.

Clare Brennan | CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR – Clare (she/her) has led Red Theater since July 2019. Directing credits include Caryl Churchill’s Vinegar Tom and the Chicago premiere of Savannah Reich’s Caveman Play for Red Theater; Agnes of God (Jeff Recommended; Redtwist Theatre) Anthony Neilson’s Stitching (BlackLight Theatre; Dublin, Ireland), Home of Love (Wall to Wall Theatre Festival; Ann Arbor, MI), and Othello (The University of Michigan). Other credits include sound designer for The Mad Ones (Blank Theatre), producer for Bicycle Thieves (Littlebrain Theatre/RhinoFest), and curator of many an apartment show. Elsewhere in Chicago, she has worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, TimeLine Theatre, Shattered Globe, Links Hall, The Den, Prop Thtr, Theatre Evolve, and NON:op.
