Clare Brennan //

A Chicago-based theater maker, Clare has led Red Theater since July 2019. Directing credits include Caryl Churchill’s Vinegar Tom and the Chicago premiere of Savannah Reich’s Caveman Play for Red Theater; Agnes of God (Jeff Recommended; Redtwist Theatre) Anthony Neilson’s Stitching (BlackLight Theatre; Dublin, Ireland), Home of Love (Wall to Wall Theatre Festival; Ann Arbor, MI), and Othello (The University of Michigan). Past production credits include Indoor Cats, You Are Happy, and Isle of Sugar for Red Theater, Bicycle Thieves for Littlebrain Theatre and RhinoFest, and many an apartment show. Elsewhere in Chicago, she has worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, TimeLine Theatre, Shattered Globe, Links Hall, The Den, Prop Thtr, Theatre Evolve, and NON:op. Wyatt Kent //

Wyatt was a member of the inaugural Red ensemble in Lincoln, Nebraska before stepping into leadership in March of 2020. For Red, he directed the world premiere of Mora V. Harris’ Indoor Cats, and will direct Hamlet in Spring 2024. Directing credits include immersive and devised work (The Wild Party, Out of Many, De/Ascending), Shakespeare adaptations (Romeo and Juliet et al., Macbeth, Julius Caesar) and new play development. This summer, he will direct The Mad Ones for Blank Theatre. Other theatrical credits for Red include Dramaturg for Non-Player Character and producer for the workshop of Isle of Sugar at The Martin. www.wyattkent.com

Mary Townsend Cahoon //

Company Manager

she / her / hers

Mary stepped into the role of Company Manager in July 2023 after stage managing Red’s 22/23 season. She is a transplant from Arizona, where she previously worked as a designer, technician, and actor at theaters including: Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival, Southwest Shakespeare Company, Stray Cat Theatre, The Phoenix Theatre Company, BLK BOX PHX, Space 55, Mesa Encore Theatre, Theater League, and Broadway Guild of America. Recent Chicago credits include Steppenwolf Theatre Company (Another Marriage; POTUS) and The Plagiarists (Arabia, Arabia). She also produces the F*** Around Series, Red’s production series at The Hearth.

Andy Cahoon //

Director of Production

Andy officially joined Red Theater in July 2023 as Director of Production after serving as props designer and technical director for our 22/23 season. He is a graduate from The University of Arizona with 13 years of experience as a professional actor, designer, carpenter, electrician, and technical director in Theater and Film. During his time in Chicago he has worked as an electrician on several productions with Steppenwolf, and numerous companies as TD. Andy’s Chicago Technical Direction credits include: Indoor Cats, Vinegar Tom, Caveman Play, and Hamlet - Red Theater, London Road - Shattered Globe Theater (Jeff Award Winner - Best Musical Midsize), The Writer - Steep Theater, Welcome to Matteson, How I Learned What I Learned - Congo Square Theater, and Arabia, Arabia!, When You Awake You Will Remember Everything - The Plagiarists. 

Becca Holloway //

Casting Director

she / her / hers

Becca is a director and casting director around Chicago. She has been Red Theater’s resident casting director since 2019, with credits including Vinegar Tom, Indoor Cats, Caveman Play, Hamlet, as well as Red’s monthly in-person reading series at The Hearth. In 2021, she joined Factory Theatre an ensemble member. Her Factory credits include Last Night in Karaoke Town (2020/2022; AD/music director/choreographer), The Hamilton Beach 420 Special (The 2021 Factory Holiday Show; director), The Factory Zone (2019; actor) and Prophet$! (2019; AD/choreographer). Becca has been lucky enough to work on the directing teams of several companies including: Hell in a Handbag, Broken Nose Theater, Oil Lamp Theater, Theatre Evolve, The Comrades, Refuge Theatre, and many others.

Giulianna Marchese //

Literary Manager

she / her / hers

Giulianna graduated with Honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 2017 with a BFA in dramaturgy. She apprenticed at American Theater Company in Chicago and interned at City Theatre and Quantum Theatre in Pittsburgh. As a graduate student at UC Santa Cruz, Giulianna’s research focused on using performance to support alternative approaches to justice.
