Clare Brennan | DIRECTOR — Clare (she/her) is a Chicago-based theater maker. Directing credits include Vinegar Tom, (Red Theater), Agnes of God (Redtwist Theatre), Stitching (BlackLight Theatre; Dublin, Ireland), and Othello (The University of Michigan). Past production credits include Indoor Cats, You Are Happy and Isle of Sugar for Red Theater, Bicycle Thieves for Littlebrain Theatre and RhinoFest, and many an apartment show. Elsewhere in Chicago, she has worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, TimeLine Theatre, Shattered Globe, Links Hall, The Den, Prop Thtr, The Frontier, RhinoFest, Theatre Evolve, and NON:op. Clare holds a B.A. in Drama and English from the University of Michigan.

Savannah Reich | PLAYWRIGHT — Savannah (she/her) is a playwright and screenwriter based in West Philadelphia. She holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University, where she studied with Rob Handel. Her plays have been produced at theaters and universities across the country, commissioned or developed by Walking Shadow Theater Company, The Flea, the University of Minnesota, SuperGroup, the Playwrights Center, and Seven Devils New Play Foundry, and supported by residencies at Tofte Lake Art Center and MassMoCA. Her feature-length screenplay Beebe and Barton was the winner of the national Sloan Student Grand Jury Prize in 2015, and her short film Men Among Men was the winner of the Bill Murray Comedy Award at the Twin Cities Film Festival (judged by Bill Murray himself!). She was a 2020-21 McKnight Fellow at the Playwrights Center, and her play Oedipus in Seattle was the winner of the audience choice award at the 2022 Philadelphia Fringe Festival. She currently teaches playwriting and screenwriting at the University of the Arts and Dramaturgy at Swarthmore College.

 

Miranda Hernandez | STAGE MANAGER — Miranda (she/her) is an actress, director, carpenter, and stage manager from Fort Collins, Colorado. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Theater from Valparaiso University this past May, and debuted professionally in Chicago as the stage manager for Imposters Theatre Company’s The Last Living Gun. Some VU tech credits include Within the Shadows (director) and Dance Ensemble 2023 (choreographer and dancer). Her performance credits include The Fiance (Nina Ivanovna), The Insanity of Mary Girard (Mary Girard), and One Slight Hitch (Delia Coleman). She also has three years of carpentry experience, and has built for Theatre Wit and Timeline Theatre Company.

Andy Cahoon | TECHNICAL DIRECTION + PROPS DESIGN — Andy (he/him) is a professional actor, carpenter, electrician, and technical director. When he is not hanging and focusing lights at Steppenwolf, you’ll most likely see him building a set for a number of storefront theaters. Past Technical Direction credits include: London Road - Shattered Globe Theater (Jeff Award Winner - Best Musical Midsize), The Writer - Steep Theater, Welcome to Matteson - Congo Square Theater, Arabia, Arabia!  - The Plagiarists, Indoor Cats, Vinegar Tom - Red Theater.  Much love to his wife, Mary, and his two cats Imogen and Maeve. www.andycahoon.com

Jose Alexander | SCENIC DESIGN — Jose (he/they) is a scenic designer and painter based out of Chicago. A recent graduate of Columbia College, he is a freelance painter and designer, as well as the Scenic Paint Charge at Roosevelt University. Jose has painted at Timeline Theatre Company, Teatro Vista, and Theatre Wit, and has scenic charged at Porchlight (RENT) and Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre (Best Little Whore House in Texas). Most recently, he was the assistant scenic designer for What the Constitution Means to Me at Timeline. This is their second production with Red Theater, having set designed last season’s production of Indoor Cats.

 

Haleigh Kent | COSTUME DESIGN — Haleigh (she/they) is thrilled to be in their third production with Red Theater, having costume designed last season’s productions of Vinegar Tom and Indoor Cats. Haleigh is a Chicago based theater artist and educator with a focus on early childhood development. Their costume design prioritizes thrifted and handcrafted pieces.

James Arakas | LIGHTING DESIGN — James (he/him) is the Assistant Professor of Lighting Design and Technology in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Troy University in Troy Alabama, where he designs, mentors students, and teaches classes across the design, tech, and management spectrum. He has a BA in Theatre, Minor in Creative Writing from Wofford College and an MFA in Performance Design: Theatre from Arizona State University. He is excited to be making his Chicago and Red Theater debut and working with the wonderful people inhabiting both (even when it takes him away from his wife and cats). jamesarakaslighting.com

Sebby Woldt | SOUND DESIGN — Sebby (they/them) is very excited to be working with Red Theater again after working on Indoor Cats and Vinegar Tom. Sebby has designed sound for almost one hundred productions in the Chicagoland area since graduating from the Theatre School at DePaul, and has been nominated for several Broadway World awards. Recent credits include: Richard III (Promethean), Lane Call (The Factory Theater), and The Ineptidemic (The Conspirators). Sebby is also the resident sound designer of the Bristol Renaissance Faire. You can find their original music and covers under the artist name The Eternal Dreamers.

 

Amanda Pintore | CHOREOGRAPHER — Amanda (she/her) is a director, choreographer, and educator focusing on movement and dance education, devised theater, and making theater and dance performances with and for 0-6 year olds. She also specializes in arts integration, creative facilitation strategies, and training in teaching artistry. She is an Assistant Professor in Theatre for Youth and Community and Acting at Arizona State University. She is also a Fulbright Specialist and collaborated with students and faculty at Atlantic Technological University in Ireland in the fall of 2023. She has an MFA in Theatre for Youth from Arizona State University.

Becca Holloway | CASTING DIRECTOR — Becca (she/her) is thrilled to have cast this amazing team! Previous Red Theater credits include casting last season’s Vinegar Tom and Indoor Cats, producing Non-Player Character, and curating the monthly series Readings at Red. She is also a company member at Factory Theater where she is a casting associate. Much love as always to CWW and MM.

Wyatt Kent | PRODUCER — Wyatt (he/him) was a member of the inaugural Red ensemble in Lincoln, Nebraska. Directing credits include immersive and devised work (The Wild Party, Out of Many, De/Ascending), Shakespeare adaptations (Romeo and Juliet et al., Macbeth, Julius Caesar) and new play development. With Red Theater, he most recently directed the world premiere Indoor Cats by Mora V. Harris and will be directing Hamlet in Spring 2024. Other Red credits include Producer for last season’s production of Vinegar Tom and the 2020 workshop of Isle of Sugar, as well as Dramaturg for Non-Player Character. He previously worked as a teaching artist and Artistic Director for Compass Creative Dramatics.
